Qually Talks are back!
Join us for our inaugural relaunch of Qually Talks.
Qually Talks are designed to bring value to QRCA members in the form of informal conversations around topics we care about. Each Qually Talk will be centered around a specific topic. Speakers and panelists' presentations will be brief and the focus will be on a lively back-and-forth conversation.
Our first Qually Talk will be a Recap of the 2025 Berlin Worldwide Conference. Attendees of the conference will share their insights and learnings with those of us who didn't attend. Each attendee will share a brief recap of their own personal take-aways so that we can benefit from some of their interpretation of the presentations in Berlin.
Qually Talks will occur on the first Thursday of every month at 10:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM EDT.
The full schedule of topics will be posted soon.

Dean has always been naturally inquisitive about human behavior. People truly fascinate him and he believes understanding ourselves, our behaviors, and the motivations behind our behaviors is the best way to understand the world around us. He’s been on a life-long quest to uncover and explore the 'whys' behind what, when, and how we do the things we do.
In college, he earned his degree in Humanities – the study of what makes us human. After college, he started a 10-year career in advertising mostly because he was intrigued by how brand and product communications and iconography persuasively influence human behaviors. Next, his career in advertising led him ultimately to qualitative market research. In the end, Dean is doing something that he loves – he gets to talk to people in an effort to understand who we are and why we behave the way we do.
Dean has been a QRCA member since 2010 and is the founder and lead researcher of his company Happy Talk Research, LLC. (To learn the inspiration behind the company name, check out the website at www.HappyTalkResearch.com)
Pascal Patenaude combines over 20 years of expertise in qualitative research with 10 years as a professionally trained actor from the National Theatre School of Canada. As founder and president of Patenaude Research and Communications, he specializes in decoding the nuances of the French-Canadian market and acting as a cultural interpreter.
Pascal infuses his research and moderation work with acting techniques that inspire empathy and engagement. With a talent for reading people and a dynamic, charismatic presence, Pascal uses improvisational theatre to enhance ideation sessions, behavioral training, and more. His “Play-Based Exercises” bring clients closer to consumer realities, transforming insights into impactful experiences. Pascal’s background in theatre arts empowers him to bring data to life.
Paul is the Commercial Director at Qualzy, where he’s focused on helping researchers get the most out of the platform and shaping its ongoing growth. With a background in leadership across both commercial and nonprofit organisations, Paul is passionate about building genuine, collaborative relationships with clients. He’s especially interested in how tech can support, not replace, human connection in research.
Outside of work, Paul is a husband, dad to three teenage girls, a marathon runner, and a lifelong gadget geek. He also runs a YouTube channel for fellow runners, which combines questionable camera angles with surprisingly useful advice. And if you've been to a QRCA conference before, chances are he's handed you a tea bag.
