Overview

With the move to all or mostly digital research, there’s even more emphasis on our voice (which of course is now channeled through computer speakers introducing a whole new set of variables.) Our voices are truly our most important “tools of the trade,” but is yours serving you as well as it could?

Improv Master, Will Dennis facilitated an in-person workshop for the Philadelphia Chapter in 2019 that was a big success. This year, he is returning to work with us online to provide tools and techniques to spruce up our vocal instruments for the digital world that we are inhabiting.

An analogy: we will explore how to treat the voice as if it were a piano. We have timbre, pitch, pace, intensity and more to play with. The piano has 88 keys, and in the right hands makes marvelous music, from jazz to classical. The voice is a similarly marvelous instrument.

Some of the areas we will work on in full group and break out teams

Unscripted Productions

UnScripted Productions, Ltd. was founded by husband and wife team, Will and Danielle Dennis in 2018 with one purpose: begin changing the world by using improv to help people maximize their own potential.

UnScripted's philosophy is a response to the "culture of no" that we currently find ourselves immersed in. Choosing instead to embrace true collaboration, acceptance, support, communication, innovation and a lack of judgement, UnScripted comes first from a place of yes - always.

Will and Danielle are both members of Actors Equity Association; Will as a professoinal actor and Danielle as a professional production stage manager. Both have worked at most Philadelphia regional theaters including Walnut Street Theater, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Philadelphia Opera Company, Act II Playhouse, Montgomery Theater and Delaware Theatre Company.
