As a young person, my family relocated often. I attended 3 middle schools and 4 high schools, living in 7 cities before going away to college. I quickly learned that each time we moved was a fresh start. At one school, I was a hardcore skater girl and in another a member of the pep squad. REinvent could have been my middle name. I wish I’d thought of that at the time.
Thinking about my adult life and career, I can see a similar pattern—but with maturity came more purpose in the decisions made. In this presentation, I’ll discuss my path from art student to working at NASA’s Mission Control. From a failed small business to an MBA, Procter & Gamble, and PepsiCo. And finally chucking it all for freelance consulting and founding a family vineyard and winery thousands of miles from anyone I know and with no experience whatsoever.
